About Pondok Pekak
Pondok Pekak was founded in 1992 by Laurie Billington & Made Sumendra. As a lover of literature, Laurie Billington was shocked to find out that the town of Ubud did not have a single Library, so she decided to make one. Pondok Pekak not only promotes literature, but also focuses on the preservation of Balinese Arts & Culture, by offering lessons for various crafts of Balinese art taught by local master artisans.
